Becoming a diligent person is so important in growing closer to God, getting mentally and physically stronger, and going further in life. Bible Verses and quotes about diligence help me to keep my focus and realize how important diligence is.
Simply put, diligence is the constant applied effort to reach a certain goal. To do something consistently, persistently and with great care.
I am one of those people that has grand ideas, too many to count. Yet, ideas and ambition without diligence, doesn’t get you very far.
You know those moments, where once again, I make out a chore chart for our kids. We are going to follow this PLAN.
Just kidding. A couple of weeks in, no one is following the chores, no one is marking off the designated bullet point, and we have completely abandoned the chart.
Or when you start doing a daily devotional, and it only lasts 3 mornings. New habits are incredibly hard to make when you are not a diligent person!
Or deciding to start a new diet on Monday, but you fall off the wagon by lunch time. Diligence is what makes you follow through to an excellent end.
How to Become A Diligent Person

1. Ask God For Help.
He is the our helper, and is the one that can help us become a diligent person.
2. Ask Someone to Hold You Accountable
Diets are easier to follow when someone will hold you accountable, but it is the same as with other things in life. Ask a trustworthy and dependable friend to hold you accountable to a new habit you are trying to create.

3. Learn About Self Discipline
A much-forgotten virtue, self-discipline will really help you overcome negative habits in your life. Read ‘Discipline The Glad Surrender’ by Elizabeth Elliot. This book is on my reading list in the near future.
4. Realize that you are a Steward of Everything God has given you.
Everything that we have, whether children, money, family, friends or stuff, its all been given to us from God. We are stewards of everything, and we need to handle them to the Glory of God.
5. Prioritize Your Duties.
Prioritizing your duties, listing them in order of importance, helps put your life into perspective. Do your chores in order that you deem important, and it will become easier to stick to your schedule.
I struggle with diligence. While I might be efficient in starting all sorts of projects, plans and goals, I struggle to bring to fruition what I set out to accomplish!
