About Me

Hi, I’m Marilyn! So glad you stopped by. I’m a mother to five beautiful children, wife to a wonderful husband, but most importantly, a follower of Christ. We live in northern Alberta on a small sheep and grain farm. I enjoy gardening, writing, reading, and striving to become who God intended me to be.

Why I Started This Blog

A great marriage and an awesome family life is what I strive for. Relationships are what make or break life. My husband and I have been married for 10+ years, and they have been some hard years. However, I have learned that God’s grace carries you through good as well as tough times, and He carries you out to the other side stronger for it. I started this blog to share what I’m learning and to encourage other wives and mothers to live life to the fullest. At Keepers At Home, I share my tips on being the best possible wife you can be, even if you are married to man that (probably) is not perfect!

Some things to know about me…

I am far from the perfect wife. I still mess up much too often, and instead of loving and respecting my husband, my selfishness and lack of trust get in the way of us living together in holy matrimony the way God intended.

I love Jesus. He is my friend and personal Savior. Daily I fail to be the kind of disciple I want to be, but I am so thankful that He loves me enough to help me grow and forgives me my faults.

I got married young, at the age of 19. I don’t feel that that was too young, but I sure wish I had known about some of the things I know now about being a wife!

I can play the piano, guitar, and the violin, but all at an amateur level. Mostly because I am not dedicated enough to learn something really well. Too many interests and too many things to keep learning.

I am a lifelong learner. Learning about new things energizes me, and I love sharing what I am learning with others….if they will listen.

I am an introvert, who loves to spend time at home with her family. Sometimes, I also need to go take a walk all alone.
